In this week’s makeover, we took on a LONG overdue room in our office space, the infamous (and scary) second bathroom. And yes, we actually have another bathroom that we share with the other tenants in the building, but it has remained untouched until now. We also thought it would be fun to add a little challenge by making it our mission to use only the supplies we already have in our storage room.

When we moved into our home, we realised that our porch was in poor condition, but I really wanted to use it for the summer. That said, we weren't ready to undertake a complete reconstruction, so we decided to focus on improving the aesthetics for now. Our porch is long and narrow, which made the layout a bit of a challenge.

Recently, I made over the bathroom in my rental suite and let me tell you, this bathroom was in dire need of a refresh, with outdated fixtures, lack of storage, and an off-center light fixture, I really needed to tackle a couple projects.

Recently I embarked on a project that I’ve been wanted to do for a while. It all started when I stumbled upon the perfect space hidden in a city guardrail and decided to take on my next miniature DIY challenge: transforming a mundane guardrail into a space-age atomic retro futuristic apartment - located on a spaceship.

I’m sure you have seen those Pinterest photos of of spice bottles perfectly lined up and labeled with stickers, and fridges organized into neat little plastic containers. These look beautiful, but let's be real, knowing myself that’s not realistic or an achievable practice for the way my partner and I use the kitchen. So, I'm sharing some tips in this blog post on how I managed to organize my kitchen in a way that's practical and doable for us.

That said, we DO need more kitchen storage, so I thought I would turn it into a home bar / coffee bar situation! That said, I want to do everything with second hand materials if possible, so come on the journey with me!

That 70's House is back with another house project! Heating a big house like this can get quite pricey really fast, so we decided it would be best to reduce that price by bringing in a wood burning fireplace! There was even a spot in the wall to insert one in. So I ripped out a section of my hardwood flooring to install some tile, and inserting an amazing wood oven into this dreamy corner.

If you have been following along our socials, you would know that I (Becky) recently moved into a new house outside of the city. It has been my mission to turn this farmhouse into my dream retro mid century modern home. In December, my family made the decision to celebrate the holidays at our house this year for the first time because we just moved into a house with a lot more space to host. That said, we needed a space to eat our Christmas dinner, so it was time to tackle the dining nook in my new house.

When I first moved into my house, to store my clothing, I set up some filing cabinets and drawers I already had. That said, I knew this was only temporary, and when my partner Elliot moved in with me we decided it was time to upgrade this space to have more storage for both our clothes.

I recently took over the upstairs floor of my house that I used to rent out to a tenant. That said, I now have an extra bedroom for guests to stay in…but its currently pretty bland, only containing a bed and two side tables. I went to the drawing board and started creating a plan. I want the room to be classic and elegant, pretty minimal and all together a simple makeover that I won’t want to change for a long time. That said, all these furniture items in my mood board tend to run really expensive, and I want to do this on a budget, so I am thrifting, DIYing and up cycling some items I already had to pull this off!

Moving into a new house has had me really reassessing all my past aesthetic choices, and this includes my past Christmas decorations. Holiday decor can lean really cheesy really fast if not done right. In the past, my holiday decor has been pretty ‘Scandinavian’ in style and I liked that but I feel as though I have shifted my style to more of a mcm look; however in doing some research, I have found that I am not the biggest fan of the metallic “futuristic” look that came with the holidays in this style.
