Hey everyone, Becky here! Today, I'm sharing the makeover journey of my home's entryway, where I turn a dark and uninspiring corner into a Mid Century Modern interior design dream.

Anyone with a small space will know the struggle of trying to figure out how to find room for a desk, especially if they work from home. In this blog post, I’ll take you through the journey of surprising my boyfriend, Elliott, with a complete office makeover.

If you've been following for a while now, you might recall a fireplace makeover from my previous home. I loved that cozy corner of my room, so when I moved I took the electric fireplace with me. Obviously I couldn’t bring the built in DIY aspect from that makeover, so the bare fireplace has been sitting in the corner of my room for a while now. It’s finally time to make it look a little bit more intentional in that corner.

I bought my home just over four years ago and turned it into a duplex (also known as two separate apartments). Now through that renovation, I learned a lot and I definitely have some home renovation regrets and makeover regrets. So I wanted to share those with you so that you don't make the same mistakes and you can save yourself some time and money.

My “laundry room” is actually just a double doored closet in my basement bathroom, that also stores my hot water heater, furnace, and a ton of exposed pipes. This is my main bathroom, and the closet doors are often open, especially when there is a load in the wash, so I’ve come to the unfortunate realization that it’s just not realistic to expect the door to be closed. So the time has come to make it look a bit prettier.

Welcome back to another blog post from our series That 70s House. When I first moved into this house, one of the first things I tackled was the dining nook. You might remember it – the striped couch I used actually went viral on TikTok, and had lots of people divided on if they liked it in the space or not. Later on, I decided to switch out the sofa to one that was better suited for the area BUT I definitely did not get rid of the striped one…that $50 marketplace steal from the '60s is too iconic to part with.

We recently just completed our biggest makeover challenge to date! We transformed an elementary school classroom from start to finish. A couple months ago, we put out a call for teachers across US and Canada, and got so many applications, it was hard to choose but we narrowed it down to one incredible teacher - Miss. Hardy in Kelowna, BC. She has a split class of kindergarten and grade one students.

Welcome back to Loft Vibes!! Today we are tackling our board room / office living room. We love to film in this room due to its fantastic natural lighting. However, over time, we noticed several elements that were bothering us and just didn't reflect our DIY and design style. So, it was time for a change! Some of the major issues were the ceiling, which had been a prominent eyesore, the florescent lighting, and the colour scheme of a built in wall.

In this week’s makeover, we took on a LONG overdue room in our office space, the infamous (and scary) second bathroom. And yes, we actually have another bathroom that we share with the other tenants in the building, but it has remained untouched until now. We also thought it would be fun to add a little challenge by making it our mission to use only the supplies we already have in our storage room.

When we moved into our home, we realised that our porch was in poor condition, but I really wanted to use it for the summer. That said, we weren't ready to undertake a complete reconstruction, so we decided to focus on improving the aesthetics for now. Our porch is long and narrow, which made the layout a bit of a challenge.

Recently, I made over the bathroom in my rental suite and let me tell you, this bathroom was in dire need of a refresh, with outdated fixtures, lack of storage, and an off-center light fixture, I really needed to tackle a couple projects.

Recently I embarked on a project that I’ve been wanted to do for a while. It all started when I stumbled upon the perfect space hidden in a city guardrail and decided to take on my next miniature DIY challenge: transforming a mundane guardrail into a space-age atomic retro futuristic apartment - located on a spaceship.

I’m sure you have seen those Pinterest photos of of spice bottles perfectly lined up and labeled with stickers, and fridges organized into neat little plastic containers. These look beautiful, but let's be real, knowing myself that’s not realistic or an achievable practice for the way my partner and I use the kitchen. So, I'm sharing some tips in this blog post on how I managed to organize my kitchen in a way that's practical and doable for us.

Taking on a kitchen reno is honestly really scary and daunting (this doesn’t go away once you start, it’s over and I still feel stressed about every decision). Not only is it inevitably going to be expensive and routine disturbing - but there are also a million things to consider in the design process! That 70's House is back with another house project! I have this pantry closet that honestly isn't very needed in our house! That said, we DO need more kitchen storage, so I thought I would turn it into a home bar / coffee bar situation! That said, I want to do everything with second hand materials if possible, so come on the journey with me!
