DIY 70s Dorm Room!

Welcome back to our final dorm makeover of the year! Today we are making over Rae’s dorm room! Rae is an educational studies student who plays rugby and LOVES the 70s! Time to kick her out of her dorm room and get to redecorating!

Let’s get started!

DIY TAPESTRY “HEADBOARD”

Dorm#2-11.jpg

For this DIY tapestry, I am cutting long pieces of white and yellow yarn and tying them to a wooden dowel. Next, I’m making a feather by knotting shorter pieces of yarn along one long piece of yarn, making sure to leave a loop on top of the long piece. Once all tied up, I trimmed the yarn to look more like a feather! Simply tie the feather to the middle of the tapestry and you’re done!

REMOVABLE STICKY VINYL WALL ART

To break up one of our walls and add some more 70’s flair, we are going to be creating some art on one of the walls using some removable sticky vinyl! Simply cut and stick the vinyl in whatever shape you’d like! We decided to create two lines across the wall!

To finish off the room we added this DIY shelf that fits perfectly over her mini fridge! This shelf can be used as a cooking surface as well as storage for her dishes!

Time to add final touches and reveal the room!
