Loft Vibes is the series where we makeover our office space into the studio space of our dreams! Season 4 has begun, and we made the move from our old loft office to a huge industrial garage studio, but it needs A LOT of work to make it come to life as the vibey studio space we’re dreaming of.

We’ve already completed the storage room makeover and the office desk makeover in our new space (spoiler: they both turned out amazing), and this week we’re tackling our boardroom lounge area. We had already organized some furniture in here, but we really want to take this space to the next level to make it the ultimate chill area. This is how the room started out:

BEFORE

To start this makeover, we decided to paint the walls in multiple colours to add depth to the room. We painted one wall entirely beige, and the other one in an organic mural using orange, pink and the same beige as the first wall.

Next, we wanted to add warmth to the room so we installed some custom linen curtains and DIY’d a super cool hanging pendant light using a faux-terracotta painting method and some thrifted lamp shades that we attached to a multi-pendant light cord. To do this paint effect, mix baking soda and your paint colour together and then apply liberally to your thrifted glass, porcelain or plastic lamp shades. You will need to prime them first, and apply several coats of your baking soda/paint mixture until it is completely covered and dry.

Then we attached them using the hanging hardware included in our multi-pendant cord, and wrapped them around a dowel suspended from the ceiling.
