DIY Wedding Seating Chart
It’s peak wedding season right now, and tons of you are looking for ways to make your wedding beautiful and create an exciting experience for your guests without breaking the bank. Well, that’s where I come in! In this blog post, I’m teaching you how to make a seating chart that also doubles as a guest book to create a memorable feature and fun experience for everyone in attendance. So let’s get started!

Instructions
Step 1- choose a picture frame
I picked up a picture frame from the thrift store which had so many good frames for a great affordable price.
I disassembled the picture frame, and in it there was a poster board that was a great size to use as a base for my seating chart so I went ahead and used that. I covered it with some craft paper that would add a nice contrast to the name tags I planned to put on after.
Step 2- make the name tags
For the name tags, I made a template that you can download here. The file is a .psd photoshop file which allows you to add your own guest names into the template before printing it out.
I printed them on some linen card stock, and cut out the name tags of each guest to glue directly on to the craft paper. I made sure to have equal spacing between each name tag and left a bit of space above each row for the table numbers. I also left a good amount of spacing at the very top of the seating chart to add a label which tells guests what the chart is for.
Step 3- Add some final touches
As a final step, I wanted to add in some pressed dried florals on the seating chart as well as some beautiful calligraphy for the title. I tried my best to recreate this by looking at some fonts online. I glued some faux flowers from the craft store onto the chart using craft glue. Here you can also add some other elements such as table numbers to create visual interest for your guests!
Step 4- reassemble the frame
Now it’s time to put the frame back together! The frame initially had some staples in the back but I went for a finishing nail and hammer method to secure the seating chart. Alternatively, you could get a framing staple gun which puts in staples sideways to secure your frame.
Here comes the twist! Seeing as I made the name tags in the size of little Instax photos, I thought it would be a great idea to turn this seating chart into a guest book by having guests take a photo of themselves and put it on the chart as they arrive to the event! Cool, right?
The best part is that after the wedding, the full frame of photos can be instantly repurposed as home decor as a constant reminder of your special day.
