GIVE IT A BOOT CUT

According to Gen Z, skinny jeans are OUT these days! So why not try your hand at some boot cut jeans for a change? No need to buy them new - you can make them from your own closet! First, put on any old pair of skinny jeans - the longer the better. Then mark with a pencil or a pin how far up the jeans you want your boot cut to start. Take your pants off, and use some scissors to seam rip open the outside seam of each pant leg up to the mark you just made.

Once opened up, if each side of the leg doesn’t have a finished seam then you should hem or surge each side of the leg to stop them from fraying. If the seams are already finished then skip this step! Use a needle and a thread to sew some stitches where the rip ends at the top, to stop the rip from moving further up your leg. Do this for both pant legs, and now you have some trendy boot cut jeans!

WAX YOUR JEANS

To give your boring jeans a second life, use fabric wax to give them a leather look without the leather price!

To do this, apply fabric wax all over your jeans using even strokes. Then using a hairdryer on high heat, melt the wax into the fabric. Repeat this process until you have the desired effect, and now you have some faux-leather jeans!

PATCH YOURSELF UP

One of the simplest ways to spice up an old pair of pants is to add some super cool patches to give it a vintage vibe! I saw Zoe Sugg wear some crazy cool star pants (seen below), and thought it would be so easy to DIY these, so check out how I did it.

Find some patches in the symbol or style that you like - I went with gold stars like the picture. Then using your iron, apply heat to the patches to secure them to your pants in whatever pattern you like, and then let them cool down. This should adhere them to your pant fabric, and now you have a sweet new pair of appliquéd pants!
