PICNIC BASKET FROM THRIFT STORE ITEMS

Today we are going to be making a super awesome picnic basket out of this really cool old suitcase we found at the thrift store! What’s special about this picnic basket is that it is going to have custom straps to hold all of the goodies that you want to take with you!

We started by tackling the lining of the suitcase. We felt like the suitcase was a little dark inside and lacked character, and so we decided to add this incredible striped fabric to the inside.

We first cut out any straps, pockets, or extra lining from the original suitcase. We then took our new fabric and used fabric glue to line our picnic basket.

Next, we roughed in where we thought our picnic essentials should go inside of the basket. Once these items are roughed in, we took some thrifted brown leather belts, and glued them in place to secure our picnic essentials inside of the suitcase.

All we did next is prepare some food for our picnic, and we were ready to go!

We love how this thrift flip turned out, if you guys decide to try this out please show us using the hashtag #SorryGirlsSquad. Also make sure to check out the video below for more info!
