LOFT VIBES: OFFICE

DIY Projects get real in today’s episode! We had a plan to build the ultimate filming set up that was both beautiful and functional but making it happen turned out to be a lot of work! 8+ man hours of assembling Ikea cabinets plus the help of our talented handyman friend, Chris Palmer, and our dream space was on it’s way!

Chris also helped us build a matching work bench for in front of the DIY storage unit complete with wheels and a storage shelf! The tops of both the work bench and storage unit are butcher’s block which we sealed with a clear Varathane.

Behind our storage unit, we wanted to build a custom pegboard. We drilled carefully spaced out holes into the hardboard wall Chris put up and then painted it a nice peachy-nude. We cut pieces of wooden dowel to fit into the holes to act as pegs to hold our tools on. (But only the most aesthetically pleasing tools of course, the rest are in the drawers)

As for the office, we wanted to keep it functional for office work, but still light and fun. The OH Chair’s from Umbra added just the right pop of colour for this! The office table is from Structube and is expandable to seat more people is needed.

Two other fun DIYs we added to the office space we’re the sliding panel storage wall and the clear acrylic white board.

The office ceiling was lined with Philip’s Hue Lightstrips  from Best Buy which are so needed when the sun starts to go down! Oh and if you want to know where the vaccuum that we can’t stop talking about is from? Click here!
