LOFT VIBES: LIVING ROOM
New episode of LOFT VIBES! We’re beyond excited about how beautiful things are looking and all of the special projects we had in this episode! For this post/ episode we tackled the kitchen, living room and plant nook – some very essential parts of the space! We also wanted to thank Best Buy Canada for helping us with some much needed office and home essentials! You’ll also spot some Umbra pieces which have been donated to the cause (the cause is creating our dream functional and stylish office/ living space) and we are SO grateful.
Welcome to our “plant nook”. It’s technically the kitchen table as well but we didn’t put it anywhere near the kitchen so plant nook makes more sense. The table legs are from Wayfair, glass top is salvaged, chairs are from a local store in Toronto, the straw pendant and the mirror are from Ikea. The blanket ladder behind the table is a DIY!
Ahhh the living room! Although, I feel very weird calling any of these spaces “rooms” because this loft is just one giant room really. I wanted to point out that ALL of our lamps have Philips Hue lights (Best Buy) which means we can turn them on/off with an app, change the colour of the bulb and dim them! Honestly this has been a game changer and is my new favourite party trick!
That arch lamp tho. It’s a stunner now but the process to getting here was a tough one. Watch the episode if you haven’t yet to see that drama. The lamp was bought off of someone online.
Say hi to our adorable annex side table in nickle from Umbra! Below is our new TV set up (watch THAT drama in the episode). The cinema sign is a DIY fav of ours. AND can we check out the Bose speaker Best Buy hooked us up with?! We have 2 that we can play music out of simultaneously. I swear blasting the music in this loft happens on THE DAILY.
Okay, this. This is so so sooooo special. Pictured below is our gallery wall. We knew we wanted a focal piece and this jut-out in the wall was just the place. When we visited Umbra we were like: YES let’s do a gallery wall and anchor it with this spectacular clock (cage wall clock, Umbra). We ended up using a collection of frames from Umbra, thrifted some frames, and grabbed picture rails from Ikea. But wait, WHAT DO WE PUT IN THESE FRAMES?! We know our audience is talented, so we put out a call on instagram for our audience to submit their art to help us fill our gallery wall. We were SHOOK when we saw the photographs, paintings, drawings, and illustrations coming in!! It was so hard to pick just a handful but know that we loved looking through your art if you submitted it. We are so so thankful to have such a talented and positive audience. Mooooooving on to the kitchen. This space is definitely focused on function but I think we did a pretty good job of incorporating the original cabinets, adding storage, and making the whole thing look clean and simple! Best Buy is constantly coming through for us. They sent us a Panasonic microwave, Cuisinart toaster, and Kitchen Aid kettle (bottom shelf).

OKAY WHO KNEW POTS COULD BE ART?! I loveeee the look of our hanging pots. Also, did ya know Best Buy sells pots? YOU DO NOW!
