Dive Bar Basement Makeover

Today we got handed this super old garage space that was holding unused storage in a vacation rental. This space would totally benefit from an area to enjoy time relaxing and having fun with friends for the renters. Here’s what we did to upgrade this garage into a dive bar inspired retro game space. This has to be one of our coolest transformations yet!

BEFORE

As I’m sure most of you can relate, this garage was collecting dust and old items from the house that we’re unwanted, broken or just had no place. We decided to sell, donate or throw away the items within the space to completely start from scratch.

We really wanted to go all or nothing on this one, so we got straight to work. The first to tackle was the floor. Because we were on a time crunch, the quickest and coolest solution was to paint a pattern on it with a durable paint! To go along with the retro vibe, we took some red paint and made a cool checkered patter. This was the bases for our design and really built a colour scheme around this. With thrifting, painting and upgrading, we were able to really pull the space together.
