LOW KEY vs. HIGH KEY VALENTINE'S DAY
So Valentine’s day is coming up quickly and some people really care, while others are a little more passive about the ‘holiday’. Whatever vibe you are into, we’ve got some gift, card, and date night ideas for everybody!
diy cards
low key
Simply go out and grab a magazine that you think your S.O. might like! Try and find a magazine with a bit of a simpler cover, and go ahead and write a little note on the front of it with a thick sharpie. Super cute, practical, and low-key!
high-key
We’re going to make our S.O. work for this DIY card! Go ahead and pick up an inexpensive puzzle (we grabbed ours from the thrift store). We went ahead and painted our puzzle white as a base. You can also grab plain puzzles from Michael’s, but this might be a bit more money than the thrift store option.
Once out puzzle was white, we painted an ombre pattern onto the puzzle. Next, we grabbed a thin sharpie and wrote a lovely note to our S.O. Simply disassemble the puzzle, package it up with a ribbon, and give it to your person!
diy desserts
low-key
What’s more delicious than cookie dough! Check out the vegan cookie dough recipe we used, but be sure to treat your flour before using it by baking it in the oven for 10 minutes. We also doubled the recipe because who doesn’t want more cookie dough?!
high-key
This high-key idea is still pretty low-key and easy, but will totally impress your person. We used the recipe below, and altered it slightly by adding some more cream cheese frosting and powdered sugar on top! We would also recommend microwaving the cake in shorter time increments to prevent burning.
