DIY Anthropologie Christmas Decor Dupe (Pre-Lit Brush Trees on Wood Base)

Welcome back to our series, That Cost How Much?!?! where we recreate overpriced decor items with affordable materials and a touch of DIY. In this episode, I decided to tackle a Christmas mantel decor piece that left me genuinely questioning how it could be so expensive, the “Pre-Lit Brush Trees On Wood Base” from Anthropologie, priced at $108 USD.

Materials

  • String lights

  • Birch log

  • Bottle brushes

  • Small Brush Trees

  • Larger brush trees

Steps

First things first, I went on a scavenger hunt for supplies. Instead of dishing out $108, I found birch wood logs for just $5. Score! I clamped it down to my table and with a trusty circular saw, carefully cut it in half.

Now, onto the trees! I grabbed some budget-friendly bottle brush trees from the craft store. I also grabbed actual bottle brushes and after a little trimming and shaping (think Barbie doll haircuts but with trees), they were looking quite festive. A quick spray paint job with white paint added that snow-kissed touch.

With everything prepped, it was assembly time! I drilled holes into the log and popped those trees in, no glue needed because they fit so perfectly! Then came the pièce de résistance—string lights weaving around the trees to set that cozy holiday glow.

And there you have it—she’s done! Plus, the best part? This homemade centerpiece cost me a mere $33, but it's giving off serious holiday vibes.
