Faux Crocodile Print Paint Roller
Okay, EVERYONE was sending me this TikTok a while back of someone painting a desk with a crocodile printed paint roller, I for sure had never seen one before, so I looked into it and they sell on Amazon for $65. I really didn’t want to spend that much on something I wasn’t even sure I would use, so I went to try to make my own! Here’s what I did.
How I did it
First, I got a paint roller handle, and a cardboard roll to use as the brush bit. I then took a foam sheet and started cutting out tiny pieces to resemble the texture of a crocodiles skin. This is pretty fun because there is no perfect shape for this, so go crazy!! Next, I started gluing them onto my cardboard roll as close together as possible, to really mimic the look.
After that, I mixed some plaster into my paint of choice to give it a bit of a thicker consistency and painted it onto my surface with a lot of access paint on top. This will create our texture when the roller rolls on top of it. Let dry and voila!
