Making Over ASAP Science's New Loft!
Our friends Greg and Mitch from ASAP Science recently got a work/live loft space and asked for our help to make it feel more inviting and lived in. We quickly got to work on planning this huge makeover and are seriously obsessed with how it turned out.
Before
Like most lofts, the ceiling height and windows were definitely the most astonishing part of the space, but it was pretty bland and had lots of room to improve. We decided to paint one wall a dark green to emphasize its beauty, knowing that the light from the windows would still keep it light enough to feel bright and homey. The opposite wall needed a statement as well, so a fun idea we thought of was adding a massive rug onto the wall!
The kitchen was also a point of tension in the space. We needed to figure out a solution to the use of space. We decided this would best be done by creating an organic custom table set around the inset pillars in the kitchen area. To give the space more character, we also switched out the cupboards, to diversify it from the white around the rest of the space.
The last main fix that needed to happen was the lounge area, with no where to sit, the space was pretty bland and also didn’t really feel inviting, so we added a couple couches to match the aesthetic of the place.
Final Touches
To give the space some personality, we added Mid Century Modern elements around the whole loft, with personality similar to the guys. For example, they love birds so we added some quirky decor that matched that aesthetic.
Results
We are just totally in love with the final results of the loft and honestly kinda wish we live here ourselves now LOL. Be sure to watch the full makeover start to finish on YouTube (linked below) to see Greg & Mitch’s reaction to the makeover.
