Laundry Room Makeover!
Here are a few small space hacks that Becky used to brighten up her dingy laundry room!
ADD A FRESH COAT OF PAINT
A super easy and affordable home upgrade that is really going to brighten up a dingy space! We chose a white paint.
STICK-ON BACKSPLASH FOR ADDED DETAIL
There are these super easy stick on backsplash pieces that are super easy to use and add a refined detail without having to deal with tiles and grout.
ADD A SHELF FOR STORAGE AND HEIGHT
Small spaces often need more storage! Floating shelves add storage while keeping things off the floor and drawing the eye up to make the room feel bigger!
ADD CURTAINS FOR A COHESIVE LOOK
If you have any awkward doorways or boilers you need to hide, hanging curtains can help create a more cohesive look to the space!
UPGRADE FLOORING
Similar to the stick-on backsplash, we picked up this linoleum flooring that is super easy to cut with an exacto knife and lay down on your floors.
SIMPLIFY BULKY ITEMS
It’s super easy to take usually bulky items and DIY them to be slimmer and simpler. We went ahead and DIYed this hanging drying rack for Becky’s laundry room.
DIY DRYING RACK
You Will Need…
5 ¾ “ dowels
1” x 3” piece of wood
Drill
Measuring tape
Pencil
Start by measuring and cutting two 1.5 foot pieces out of your 1x3” piece of wood. Measure and cut all of the dowels to be 3 feet in length. On your two 1.5 food pieces, add 6 marks along the wood evenly spaced out. Next, take a ¾” drill bit, and drill holes on both pieces where you added your 6 marks. Sand away any rough edges. Add the dowels into each 1.5 foot piece. Add nails to the tops of your wood to hold the dowels in place. Paint the whole thing white! Once try, add four c hooks to each corner. To hang, add two c hooks into your ceiling, and use rope to hang the rack!
COVER UP EYESORES
Get creative when covering up eyesores in your room! We covered an exposed pipe with a pretty trailing plant!
