Coachella-Inspired Boho Dorm Room Makeover!
We’re taking on at-home dorm makeovers this year for students living off campus to help them get their study on! If you missed our first cottagecore aesthetic makeover then check it out here.
Meet Kajal, a post-grad student studying teaching. Kajal describes her style as Coachella boho meets minimal, and wants to make her bedroom feel more adult including a chill space rather than a desk. Check out her bedroom before:
BEFORE
THRIFT OR BUST
We jam packed this room with rattan and wicker pieces that we thrifted online including an authentic papasan chair we found for free on the side of the road! We’re trying to create a living room effect in this bedroom since Kajal didn’t want a desk so that she can still have a spot to study that isn’t her bed.
HIT THE LIGHTS
We swapped out the classic overhead light that everyone and their grandma has for this gold and off-white hanging pendant light. Lighting is a really important aspect of a space, and we added some soft lamps as well to balance the bright overhead light.
FINAL TOUCHES
To finish off the space we put up some curtains to make a tent-like canopy bed, installed a big arched mirror right by the door, and colour-coded her paints on some floating shelves. Let’s see how this boho minimal Coachella-inspired bedroom makeover turned out!
