DIYING FOR $0: HANDBAG EDITION

maxresdefault.jpg

We’re back doing another DIYing for $0 challenge! If you didn’t see the last one (check it out here), this is a challenge where we DIY with just the stuff that’s around our office!

Today’s goal is to make a handbag, but there’s one restriction… we must incorporate pipe cleaners! With two hours on the clock, we got started!

KELSEY’S FOLDER BAG

Kelsey decided to go with a fresh and natural theme for her bag. She used some scrap tan fabric to create the body of her bag, and used multiple pieces of pipe cleaner twisted together to sew into the edges of the bag to create structure (genius!!). She went ahead and sewed it all together, popped on some snaps, and added some tan faux leather/vinyl to create a handle! The finishing touch was adding our very own TSG patches to her bag! Check them out here, they’re super cute.

BECKY’S PUNK “TENTY” PURSE

Becky went for a really cool and edgy punk theme for her bag! She used scrap black faux leather and faux suede materials to create the base of her bag. She added a silver chain and hoop to the front, and incorporated the pipe cleaner by making this cute little bear charm out of some red pipe cleaner.
