10 Simple Changes to a Space!
Today we are in a pretty typical city condo, and we’re looking to spice things up in this space! It’s easy to feel uninspired in a cookie cutter space like this, and so we’re here to add some simple elements to make this space feel more personal!
Here are 10 small changes you can make to a room!
1. Plants
Adding plants livens up a space by adding pops of colour and interest! If you’re worried about keeping your little buddies alive, grab some faux plants and pot them inside of a bigger pot and add a bit of soil to make your faux plant look totally real!
2. Cohesive colour scheme
Choosing 3-4 different colours that go well together as opposed to choosing 1-2 different colours makes your space more interesting, and makes choosing pieces to go in your space easy!
3. Layers
Layering items such as pillows and blankets on a couch or books and candles on a coffee table adds texture and interest, while making your home feel more… homey!
4. Showcase your hobbies and interests!
Using items related to your hobbies and interests lets people know who you are (no matter how weird or wacky). Hang that guitar on the wall! Showcase your collection of… drink lids? Display your rackets!
5. Add Height
Adding height leads the eye up and makes the room appear larger! Add mirrors higher up on the wall, or tall plants to add greenery AND height!
6. Lighting
Adding additional lighting can warm up cold spaces, or add light to corners that are a bit darker!
7. Textiles and texture
Choose textiles that add texture and interest to your space!
8. Rearrange
Sometimes reimagining your space and rearranging your furniture can bring you a fresh perspective!
9. Mirrors
Again, mirrors totally open up a space and trick the eye into thinking the room is SO much bigger than it actually is.
